Tribal Rugs & Textiles

It all began in 1975, when a young couple visiting the grand bazaar in istanbul were led 'backstage' to the in-house carpet auction room. among a few unsold lots, a small piece took their fancy. it was only a section, cut from what must have been a large, fine flat-weave rug, a 'kilim', but it was beautiful and affordable for a couple of young backpackers.

Over the years, with many trips throughout turkey and the middle east, the collection has grown. many small hand-knotted carpets and woven rugs, picked up during the proprietors' travels in anatolia and all points east are on sale.
